Every day, lifesaving work happens at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. From pediatric cancer treatments and organ transplants to fracture care and appendectomies, we care for our community’s children and teens. Children's, a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to bringing health, hope and happiness to children through philanthropic support.

The Children's Foundation works with individual donors, charitable foundations and corporations to provide medically needed healthcare to the children of Georgia whose families could not otherwise afford to pay. Thanks in large part to generous community support, no child is turned away simply because of a family’s inability to pay.

Each year, Children’s provides about $90 million of care for which we do not get paid. In addition, Children’s invests in pediatric research, teaching and child wellness initiatives, for which we also do not get paid. The total community benefit provided by Children’s in 2010 was about $123 million.

In addition, the Foundation relies heavily on volunteers both in the hospitals and throughout the community. In 2010, in-hospital volunteers donated more than 127,916 hours of their time. This translates into more than $2.7 million in cost savings for Children’s. Additionally, community volunteer groups raised more than $2.1 million for Children's through their many fundraising activities and events.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is a 501(c)(3) organization, gifts to which may be deductible as chartiable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
